"Embed camera profile" converts to sRGB

I have always used the option to "embed camera profile" because I prefer to do my color space conversions in Photoshop. However, in LE 4.0.1 when I select "embed camera profile" in the "ICC Profile" dropdown, I find that my output TIFFs always come out converted to sRGB. Yikes! If I change the profile to something else, like Adobe RGB or ProPhoto, the output TIFF ends up in those spaces, so it seems like only "embed camera profile" is affected.

I'm running on 10.4.11 if that makes any difference, and I'm converting Canon 5D CR2 files. This worked in CO 3.7 and 4.0, so I'm pretty sure it's a new bug -- or I'm doing something new wrong. It also doesn't matter if I use the generic CO profiles or third-party ones (I prefer ETC). Deleting my settings by trashing the plist file made no difference with respect to this issue.

I've entered a bug report, but I'm also wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows a workaround.

I read about the same problem in the CO4/Win forum few times now and it appears to be a bug introduced in 4.0.1. It seems PO is aware of it. By the way, it is not related to a specific camera type or model.

Workaround? Reverse to 4.0 could provide a temporary solution till the next update arrives.

Thanks, Paul. I'm going to roll back to 4.0 for the time being like you suggest. I knew I enabled all those profile mismatch warnings in Photoshop for a reason -- if I hadn't noticed the lack of warning dialogs this might have gone undetected.
