Connecting P30 to vista

I'm trying to connect a P30 to a Vista laptop and when coonecting the camera via the firewire nothing happens. Any reason why this may be happening.

  Perhaps you use Vista 64-bits? Do you use CO4.x or 5.0? Has it been working in the past with this setup?

  I'm using a 32-bit OS with CO4.8.3, I can attach a P45 which works but connecting a P30 The computer will not recognise the back. I don't even get an error message, It dosn't even show as an additional storage device.
  
  Any thoughts??

  That sounds like the P30 broken firmware problem once again, although I thought the P45 had the same issue so I'm slightly confused. There's multiple discussions of this in the "P Series Backs" forum, and the workaround from Microsoft is here:
