Order by...
Hi,
no matter what selection I use on the left, I'd like the thumbnails to appear on the right ordered by the date they have in the Date Finder.
Any clues to how I can achieve this?
Thanks,
Pedro

If I'm reading this correctly, you want to sort by capture time after you have selected by a certain date range.
If so, then all you do is select the radio button(s) in the date finder. Then go to View (found at the top) find sort and sort by capture date.0 -
Sometimes the captured date is not correct, so I force a specific date (by dragging the photo to a date); it will not change the captured date, but will fill the event date.
So what I want is:
If the event date exists, let my date be the event date; if not, let my date be the capture date. Then sort by my date.

I ran into that issue where one of my cameras didn't have the correct date. It was a fellow shooter at a wedding and he lived in a different timezone.
Well I bought a piece of software called Photo Mechanic. Its used by photo journalists and sports photographers to quickly sort, cull, tag, and send their pictures. Anyway, it has a function that allows you to change the capture date in the metadata. It does a whole lot more than that so it's a very handy piece of software to have.
It's the only solution I am aware of that will fix this problem quickly and easily.
Photo Mechanic is the first step in any of my shoots as its importing is super fast, so I can get my sorting and culling done in a few minutes. And just like Media Pro,Lightroom, and C!, you can tag keywords upon import.
Anyway, they offer a free trial. It couldn't hurt to try it. The support on their forum is incredible so if you have issues, they will help you.0 -
Lightroom also allows for a change to the capture date & time. 0 -

Didn't know this. Thanks for sharing.0 -
Expression Media has a script called "IPTC Date from Capture Date." Is this available in Media Pro and if so, would it solve your problem? 0
