surprising LCC results with D800
Hi,
Below some calibration pics, and the correction I got. Anyone ever witnessed something like that ? Is my sensor really that broken and i never saw... ?
Tech details : C1 Pro 6.4.3 on OS 10.8, D800 with latest firmware, nikkor PC-E 24 not tilted not shifted, calibration kit from
Just to make sure I tested another lens at hand (nikkor af-s 35 1.4) and got the same vertical band on the right when light fallof correction is activated.
Of course I tried the 3 different analyze modes, but that didn't change anything.
Thanks for your help, I'm a bit puzzled
Frederic

apparently pictures didn't display correctly in my previous message. they were truncated and the problem couldn't be seen. links did work though.
it should be fixed now, if you refresh the page you'll see smaller pics as well as the obvious issue.0 -
Hello,
We have had a few customers report this and have been able to reproduce the error. It is now listed as a bug regarding this specific file type and the LCC feature. We hope to have a fix in the near future. I apologize for the inconvenience.0 -
Hi Drew,
Thanks for letting me know, looking forward to the fix.0 -
hi frederick,
can you please help me to understand about how this software works?
i looked through the photographers rewievs on lens calibrator site but it seems like the plastic piece that comes with phase digital backs, or not?
i thought that there was also a software that implements capture one tools.
thanks in advance

Hi Paolo,
There's no other software involved than C1 and its LCC correction tool here. And the white plastic sheet I was referring to is indeed similar to the one provided with P1 backs.0 -
ok frederick, thanks for your reply! 0 -
Other than opening a duplicate support case, is there a way to be updated on this bug ?
Thanks.0 -

Looks like the fix for LCC support and D800 files is in 6.4. I just ran a bunch of old files I had shot months ago and were producing the bad LCC and they work fine now, just have to re-analyze your LCC shots.
I am so happy to have this fixed!!!! 😄
