CO8 keeps depositing a folder on my Desktop....
I am running the latest CO8 version on Mac OS 10.10.5 on an iMac.
The CO8 App is installed on my internal SSD and the CaptureOne Library on my HD.
But suddenly whenever I use CO8 it deposits a folder 'CaptureOne' containing 'Settings82' folder containing various '.cos' files which match some of the file names on my Desktop.
This is new behaviour and I would prefer to have less clutter on my Desktop.
There is and always has been a similar (but not identical) folder 'CaptureOne' containing 'Cache' and 'Settings' folders.
Any help would be much appreciated - Thanks.
Robin

Did you import your Desktop folder accidentally into one of your catalogs? 0 -
It seems like your using a Session, maybe accidentally. In Session mode, CO puts a COxx folder next to the images. So, if you're opening images from your desktop, CO will put the CO82 folder there. It only contains the settings, previews and the preview cache.

....Yes, exactly that - Via Contextual Menu > Open with, I accidentally selected CaptureOne instead of ON1 to open a JPEG which was on my Desktop. I use CO8 exclusively to edit my RAW files which are uploaded direct from my Canon D-SLR and I use ON1 later in my workflow.
I have now put the folder in the Trash and emptied it.
Thankyou both 'meanwhile' and 'HCS' for your help - Much appreciated 😊0
