Creating new Catalog with out importing files

I have problems with a crashed catalog.

Now I want to create a new catalog and adding my 2016 pictures with out moving them from their harddrive and folders.

How do I import the files to a new catalog without moving them?

  If you store your RAW files on your external hard drive, you just click on the "Import" icon. Once your new catalog is created and open, you choose your external HDD folder as "source" in Import From, and "Current Location" as destination in Import To.
