Is that a link to update? Because the DL say's 1.3.2, however, the actual file is a 1.3.1 version.... 0 -

The OP is running on a Mac, the 1.3.2 update is relavant to Apple. Windows is 1.3.1.0 -
Nope. The OP (me) is running Win 7. 0 -

❓
The Original Poster lists Mac 10.6.8 as their Operating System. My answer to update to 1.3.2 was in response to the Original Poster.[quote="mister z" wrote:

Hi
I also have this problem, put it does get there in the end. Slowly.
I have used iView for many years and have been very pleased with it. Now having upgraded to Media Pro V 1.3.2.58847 and running a Mac OS 10.6.8 I am having these problems, and thoughts and help would be appreciated.0 -

I'm using Win 7, but I see the spinning ball a lot. I also monitor the work or progress window -- on Windows, I click in the lower right on the +
But the spinning ball doesn't seem to bother me as long as the progress window shows no activity, as in a save or a rebuild.
I've concluded that MP is doing a lot of work in the background, and hence the spinning ball. For instance, If I do a lot of work, then wait for a while, a save seems to take much less time than if I do it right away. I think it is optimizing the db.
On other databases, you generally have to "optimize" it. MP seems to do that in the background.0 -
Hi
Thanks for the thoughts, but I have never had this problem before I updated to the current Media Pro, from the old iView, I also updated my Mac OS to 10.6.8 The catalog has approx 12k images on a couple of int hard drives.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the fact that I still have iView installed on the computer, would that be having a conflict ?
Thanks
Update :
I started again, with uploading the image folders to a new catalog, this is working much better, plus I found that a particular hard drive made things run slower, so maybe I have a problem with a slow running / bad hard drive, which then brings down the whole catalog.0
