Am I the only one experiencing that v10 is slower than v9?
Hi,
I have a strange issue which I can't get my head around.
I was happy user of DxO Optics for some time but a thing that always bugged me was how slow it was when exporting pictures. I heard that C1 is significantly faster so I put them to the test. 7 Raws of my EOS 5DS, 50MP camera - DxO took a whopping 2 minutes and 25 seconds to export those to TIF, C1 flashed through them - 17 seconds for 7 Raws. That's around 8.5 times faster than DxO - less than 2.5 seconds per file. I was impressed.
This was with the trial version of v9. I knew that v10 was coming, so I waited a bit and then bought v10.
Now with v10, those Raws take around 10 seconds per file. This is still double as fast as DxO, right, but it is four times slower than when I tested it with v9.
I'm trying to understand why it takes four times longer now, but I can't. OpenCL acceleration is activated and I can't find anything else that could increase speed.
Any help, anyone experiencing the same?

I updated my Nvidia graphics drivers and the 5 Raws process in 13 seconds now. 0 -

So that's about the same time per file as when you tested in V9?

Yes, it was presumably only a driver issue. After updating my graphics card drivers, everything was blazing fast again. 0 -
My own superficial observation is that it is considerably faster than v9. Specifically, I have a hunch that some of their algorithms were slowed down exponentially when applied to multiple files and they have now made the response linear. When I apply a style to multiple files it now seems MUCH faster than before. 0 -
My issue was solely with developing / exporting pictures speed - not with the workflow itself. I have a quite okay machine - i7 4790K, Geforce 970, 16Gig Ram - and exporting is around 9x times faster than DxO Optics. This was my sole reason to switch to C1, it's just extremely fast compared to DxO and even to CR/LR. 0 -

Hi
Which version of the driver are you using - 376.19 (the latest)? Also which Nvidia card to you have?
I can't get OpenCL working with my new GTX 1060 card - currently Phase One R&D is looking at this.
Cheers

Yup, 376.19 with my Geforce 970 GTX. It did not work before updating, though it did work with v9.3, but after updating it also works with v10. I did not do anything else. 0 -
I just completed a test on 10 raw files...CO9 on my maching was about 31 seconds and CO10 took about 38 seconds..
not that big a deal but I was hoping that CO10 would be at least as fast as CO9..
this is after installing the latest nVidia drivers...
any ideas that would increase my my version 10 speed?0
