    ORF - 1,109
    TIF - 6

For total of 50,878 image files. The issue is, C1 is only seeing 49,752 of them upon catalog import.

    On my calculator 18,448 + 17,801 + 1,109 + 6 = 37,364

    According to the tutorial video

    https://learn.captureone.com/tutorials/ ... m-catalog/

If the import identifies any incompatible files it would advise the numbers of them at the end of the process.

Did you see anything that suggested there might be some problems that could relate to some of the unfound files?

One other possible source of the discrepancy is LR's virtual copies. C1 does not import those and I forget now how they are reported - or if they are reported.

To get my LR catalog imported clean and neat I used LR to create a copy of my LR catalog that did not include any virtual copies or files of a type that C1 does not support (various moves and some dng file). Once that was done my import into my C1 catalogue was smooth and the numbers all matched up.

You might this thread from someone else asking about importing from LR helpful: viewtopic.php?f=52&t=27207#p130622

There were no indications of anything amiss. And I don't do virtual copies in LightRoom.

Just need to try and figure out which files weren't included and why. There don't seem to be any ways of getting catalog statistics from C1.

Is there a way to get a summary of the files in a C1 Catalog?

Had to step away from this for a bit, but I figured it out.

I have 1086 NEF files taken with a Nikon CoolPix 5400 camera. Capture One ignores those completely. That accounts for the difference. H'mmm.

    Will file a support request.

    LOL.

Official response: "too bad, so sad"....

    Guess I'm not surprised.

Technically I love Phase One products.

Support wise, well not so much.

Hmm, I don't see Nikon CoolPix 5400 in the list of supported cameras: https://www.captureone.com/en/features/ ... ed-cameras

The solution was to convert the NEF's to DNG's with Adobe's free converter.

I had the same problem. I believe one of the reasons for the incompatible files message may be due to Lightroom indicating that the meta data needs to be updated (small down arrow in upper right of image thumbnail). All the images requiring a meta data update did not import.

Also - HEIC files will not import.

    Hi,

    I extend this issue.

I have lots of old RAW-files from the good old Nikon Coolpix 5000 and cannot get them imported in C1 12. This camera is not supported by C1.

I tried various ways (converting to DNG, editing EXIF-Data to hide camera-model etc.) but nothing worked. I don't want to import them converted to TIF-files.

The original NEF-Files are fully ignored by C1, any manipulated NEF-file is ignored, too.

The DNG-files are recognized (number of files in folder is displayed in import-dialogue), but there is no preview of the files. Importing files leads to an error "System.NillReferenceException and a detailed message for each failed import-file (sorry for the German language):

Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.
bei P1.C1.Core.Import.ImportProcess.CopyImageSettingsAndCreateFirstVariant(IImage argDestinationImage, IImportSettings argSettings, Lazy`1 argSourceImageIsPackage, String argSourceImagePath, IFileSystem argFileSystem, UInt32 argFileClassification, IImportStyleSetter argStyleSetter)
bei P1.C1.Core.Import.ImportProcess.CopyImage(String sourceImagePath, String destDir, String destImageName, ICaptureOneDocument document, IImportSettings settings, UInt32 fileClassification, DateTime importDate, EIPHandling eipPacking, Boolean backupOnly, Boolean dontCopyJustReferenceFile, String sidecarDirectory, IImportStyleSetter argStyleSetter, IFileSystem argFileSystem, IImportWarningsHandler argWarningsHandler, Boolean checkIfImageAlreadyCreated)
bei P1.C1.Core.Import.ImportProcess.ImportImage(ImportArgs args, Boolean importToCatalog, String backupRootPath, Boolean alreadyCheckedIfImageReferencedByCatalog, String argSourceFilePath, String destName, String destSubPath, ICaptureOneDocument document, IFileSystem argIFileSystem, DateTime importTime, Dictionary`2 sourceDirToSidecarPath)

Is there a workaround? Can anybody help? May editing the EXIF-values help to make C1 accepting the files?

If this is not the case, I ask for adding the NIKON Coolpix 5000 to the camera-list of supported cameras. Yes, this camera is "dead" for years, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has files from this camera in his archive.

All RAWs from my other cameras (D70 and later) work really fine.

    Kind regards.

Similar problem here. I have just started a trial, imported my catalog from LR and 6 photos were reported as incompatible. Not too bad I suppose but is there anything anywhere to tell me which 6?

I don't use Virtual Copies, though it is remotely possible that there are a handful from me trying them out and I'll follow up on the idea of metadata needing to be updated but I'm not looking forward to eyeballing several thousand thumbnails.

    Thanks,
    John
