Color problems??

Embedding sRGB profiles (set in the process tab) may solve the problem. Exporting Tiffs would be better, and opening them in Photoshop would be even better; Color management in open source apps is still being perfected.

When i have adjusted the raw file the way i want it and exported it to jpg everything looks good. The problem starts when i open the jpg file in some other photo editing software in this case Gimp then the pics colors is totally different than in phase one, what can i do to correct this problem?? Never had this problem before with other raw editing software. Does anyone know what the problem here is?

    Ok!

I'm new to all this and i was looking for a nice raw editing tool but i guess i have much still to learn. I don't have photoshop and it's a too expensive program to buy for an amateur like me.

Well thanks for your help, i will try if i can figure things out 😊

    Best regards,

    Daniel

    Daniel,

If you set the Color Profile of sRGB in Processing Destination, then be assured that this is the profile that will be embedded in the file correctly.
When viewing images in other programs, be sure first that they are color managed programs.
Secondly, if color managed, be sure you are soft proofing with the same profile so you are comparing Apples to Apples 😉

I recommend Adobe Elements to those with little money and a desire to live a color-managed and productive life. Setting everything in your workflow to sRGB will also help preserve your sanity and is perfectly acceptable if imagery is just a tool for you and not a livelihood or an obsession.

The color-management toolkits (lcms, argyll) of the open source community are industrial strength, but integration in end-user apps still appears to have some way to go.
