Free Fuji C1 Question
Just downloaded and opened the Free C1 for Fuji.
One of the first setup s included permission to access my Apple Photo Library.
I clicked 'OK' but am NOT able to do so . The Photo Library is 'greyed out'.
How do I re-do, setup, or activate what ever is necessary to make this work.
I stopped using C1 Pro a while back because of niggling setup issues and changing to Fuji mirrorless was the opportunity to try again because I love the Raw conversion results that I got from my old Nikon.
It would be a shame to fail again.
Regards. Sharkey

I think access is probably to allow invoking C1 from Photos using the Photos "Edit with..." context menu. I know that works. 0 -
Thank you. I will check it out today. The drop down 'did say-to gain access' so I didn't put the 'edit-in' and the drop down together in my mind? 0 -
Good link Ben.
That looks like an extremely comprehensive and clear piece of documentation.0 -

Thanks, we do our best to keep these thousands of KB articles up to snuff 😊.
For the uninitiated, all Knowledge Base Articles can be accessed via the search bar at the top of the Support page, here:0 -
I can indeed send a Raf file to C11 for editing.
Do I have to import it to edit in C11?
Is there n way of leaving the file in 'Photo' ie referenced?
The start up choices indicated in the support document do not appear?
Should I just start again from scratch and is there a step by step method that I should use to enable a referenced methodology with 'Photos"?
At the moment I have a greyed out 'Photos' Library in C11 browser. The only images I can access are the two I have so far 'imported'.0 -

Is the file you want to deal with inside the Photos catalogue, or is it outside? Photos, like Capture One, can have files that are (in Capture One terms) managed or referenced. If the image is inside the Photos catalogue, and not outside it ("referenced") I don't think that Capture One could use the inside of the Photos catalogue as a referenced location. You would have to export it from Photos first.

Either from within Capture One go to the Help menu then Capture One Support, or go direct to . Either way, scroll down the page to the Contact Support section.

Found a useful YouTube video titled "Capture One Sharing to Photos App". If you want your baked edited file to be put in Photos then select the Photos.app in the "Open in" dropdown of the Export dialog. If exporting a single image it will be imported immediately by Photos. If exporting multiple selected images you will need to finish the import to Photos on a screen that will be shown in Photos.
The files exported from C1 must go to a folder selected in the export dialog. How they are imported into Photos (referenced or managed) is determined by the setting of Preferences-General-Importing in the Photos app.
When using Photos "Edit in..." to send a file to an external editor, Photos puts a copy of the image in a Photos Library subfolder named "ExternalEditSessions" and CaptureOne uses that copy as its referenced file and creates an XMP file in the same location if one does not already exist. If the image to edit is already a referenced image in Photos the same procedure is used and the image is copied to the "ExternalEditSessions" sub-folder in PhotosLibrary.
While saving an output file outside of Photos might be adding an extra step compared to overwriting an image that is already in Photos it is consistent with the philosophy of never changing the original file.0
