Is there a grid overlay to check vertical and horizontal straightness?

  I believe that in the angle tool (Crop menu), a grid will be displayed once you drag the slider. Even if you only "grab" it and not slide it shows the grid.

  Close but not what I am looking for. I want to be able to see if the image is square either before or after using keystone tool to straighten.

  Press Cmd + G
  
  You can setup the grids in Preferences -> Crop. Lots of way to set this up, so I hope you'll find something to your liking.
