Why can't I have browser and tools on the same side?

Can someone please explain why I can't have the browser and the tools on the same side of the screen? This limitation makes zero sense to me.

  I don't know why it has been designed like that. But if you think that being able to have them with on the same side would be a good idea, you could submit the idea to Phase One as a feature request. Go to and submit a support case with Feature Request included in the title.

  Done multiple times, over multiple versions (starting with version 7 I think). 😊
  Unfortunately, no one has taken the time to say why it's not allowed.

  It's worth keeping making the request with each version, but it probably would only get actioned if Phase One found that there was a lot of demand for it.

  But you can!
  You can drag the adjustment panels you want to use to anywhere on your screen. You can select tools from different Tool Tabs to make up your personal tool chest.
  Then Hide Tools will hide just the tools at the original positions on say the left of your screen.
  Go to Window >> Workspace and save your configuration.
  If you get the tools all abutting they seem to stick together as a group and respect their expanded dimensions.

  This would be extremely useful. I've put in a feature request.
  
  Dragging and dropping images all the way across the screen from the browser to an album is a royal pain (in the wrist).

  Yep, this is one of the main reasons I want it (the hide tools doesn't really accomplish the same job). Constantly going from one side of the screen to the other is just not very efficient or ergonomic for people with RSI and related issues.
