Color management troubles

Martin, I don't know if it helps at all because I don't know how Huey works, but Vista has a problem with color profiles at times. Most of the time it loads the LUT at startup, but then seems to unload it. This happens with certain nVidia drivers.
There are many posts about this on various forums.
My solution to this is that I put a shortcut to my calibration loader in quick launch, then just click on it after boot up each time.
    Quick, easy and it works!

    Hi Iain
Thank you for your reply 😄 I have learned about this problem too, but unfortunately it's does not seem to be the problem in my case ☹️

no. Your problem is a general misunderstanding of color management:
The problem is, that the colors are displayed incorrect in some applications. At least I think thats the where the problem is. When editing photos in Phase One, they look a little bit like when an internet browser is displaying an Adobe RGB-image. It looks nok right.
It's the other way around: C1 displays the image in the correct way and the internet browser (and the lightbox preview of the web contact sheet) does not.
In your case you see the image color managed in C1 (which should be right) and without color management in the preview of the web contact sheet.
The images in the web contact sheets are converted to sRGB(makes sense). But your display has a wider gamut. And as the sRGB-image is displayed without color management you see it oversaturated. That's all.
Firefox 3 is a web browser with color management (to be enabled manually). So if you use Firefox the web contact sheet should look fine in the web browser. Nevertheless the lightbox preview will show the images without color management - so on your display oversaturated.

    Hello,

I also have a Huey Pro and as far as I know, no problem at all.
Check if the Huey tool is loaded at Windows startup. If yes, you should see your monitor changing colors from non calibrated to calibrated (loading monitor calibration profile).

Sorry for my bad english. I really don't know how I should say explain that.

Anyway, check if the huey tool is loaded after your desktop appears.

    Here, no problems anymore.

Tip for FF3 enable color management 😉

I had troubles with my vista. Gretagmacbeths calibrator created some different profiles. The calibratorprogram loaded the profile, and no problem. A lot of startupprograms slowed down my pc, so I removede the calibratorstartupprogram.

Tried to let windows load the profile by selecting my profile as standard in color management. No help.

    I found the solution here:
    http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.a ... wareID=539

The program (freeware) will, when activated, help you to choose the profile, you want. I t works for me.

    med venlig hilsen

Kjeld, why would you want to have multiple profiles?
Just let the calibrationloader load at start up, and if Vista does unload it again, then follow my post above suggesting putting a shortcut on the tool bar, so you're only 1 click away at worst.
