4.8????????????
I haven't tried & at the moment don't intend to. However, what I am doing is pasting my response to an earlier topic re 4.7 which now seems to have dropped off the map as it's over a week old.
What I would be very interested in is receiving some form of response from any Phase One staff members who might read this list.
So, over you experts in Denmark and elsewhere.

Ulf and I have spent much time indicating what features are in the pipeline. I will not comment any further except to say that Capture One will only continue to improve. We are a very small company and things take time, but we are always committed to producing the best product we can. [end of quote]
I'm a very small company as well - it's called me. However, I get commissioned to take photographs because my clients KNOW i will guarantee a result & will work all hours to achieve it. They don't choose me because 'I'm continuing to improve'.
So, in your endeavours to produce the best product you can, perhaps you can stop adding endless new useless features & fix the current ones that either don't work properly or even at all?
The hardware seems fine it's the damn software you produce to process those files through that's not that good. Maybe your developers should concentrate on getting it to do what they think it should do so it works at 100% before asking half the world what they would like it to do. If you asked 5 photographers what they would like & how their workflow operates you'd get at least 10 different answers. Now multiply that by your client list & how many options are you asking your programmers to build in? No wonder it's keeps falling over & this forum is full of hacked off users.
Design the bloody software correctly & in a sensible user friendly mode, then we the users make a workflow we like that works to it. In the same way we adapt to manual/auto or lefthand/righthand drive vehicles.
.........end of quote........
I look forward to some sensible answers - well hoping to anyway. In fact, as far as Phase One goes, an answer or even an acknowledgement of any sort would be some progress

You are here by acknowledged.
You are right, there are many wills and it is impossible to please all.
Best you can do it to try to meet a majorities requests.
In terms of quality and speed of processing a gigantic leap forward has been taken.
Workflow can be improved in many ways.
However I have seen over and over again that the major issue seem to be that CO4 is so different compared to CO3 and this is the largest hurdle.
On tradeshows and different seminars I have seen a fair amount of light bulbs being lit up when customers see how to work in the new software.
New customers which does not have CO3 expedience does not have this kind of issues since there is nothing to compare with.
Just the fact that you can modify and save your workspace means that you can change the layout completely the way you want it, this means you can make it fit your workflow better then ever before.
Do you need to communicate to us, the forum is not the place. Contact us at http://support.phaseone.com0 -
Hi Ulf,
Thanks for responding, I've taken your advice and opened up a support case asking for some definitive timings on when we can expect simple things like stitching to appear and possibly some known bugs fixes.
The way things seem to currently going, I'm not sure I should hold my breath though.
ps. My daughter is still wondering when she can expect to be able to shoot tethered on her Fuji FinePix j10. It only shoots in jpeg mode, so I guess it won't be too long.0 -

Wrong. You're the programmers. YOU decide how it should work & then we, the users adapt how we think fit.

Yes. I don't disagree with you here.

Fantastic. It's a newly re-written bit of software. So is the interface between CS1 to CS2 to 3 to 4

That's not the point. We have to get used to it as updates & support on v3 have ceased. And you need to accept there are numerous users of 3.xx that have now been required to move to v4 because of your move forwards.

Whoopee. You can do that in CS - which I might add seems to be very stable - so what else is new? (Apart from jpeg processing & some third party dslr camera processing)?
Yours from London with a P45+ back, endless digital bits to go with it & some large format cameras that shoot both digitally & film. The latter of which works as expected.0
