new to capture one, need some help
Hello all,
i just got capture one 8 a couple of days ago, so i'am fresh new to this fantastic raw converter.
for the last couple of days i was just playing around a bit, to learn how the programm works, so far that is not my problem.
however, i created a few test catalogues wich i deleted, now on programm start i have this list dialogue box, where it asks me to choose one of this not existing cataloques. How do i clear that list/dialogue?
my second problem... i tried to import my lightroom cataloque, without much success...on scanning the lightroom catalogue, capture one says ca.140.000 elements, but the programm becomes not responsive after a while of importing (after ca 3000 elements imported) ...
if i click anywhere in the programm i get a "ping" sound as if there's some dialogue box open awaiting to be closed? but there is no dialogue box visible, (i checked the background)
i can however move the activity information box around, but there is no progression on elements import status.
only way to close capture one is killing it in the taskmanager.
i did not find a way to resume the lightroom catalogue import, is there really non, or am i overlooking something?
if i restart Lightroom import i have doubles in my collections.... so i have to redo a "clean" import as new cataloque but then it goes stuck again after awhile...
how could i manage best, the lightroom catalogue import?

i figured out how to clear the box list....
i still need help for the right lightroom catalogue import method.

Sometime back I tried to import my Lightroom catalog and had similar results. I had some success if created smaller catalogs from my Lightroom catalog and then imported the small catalog into Capture One. Success seemed to depend on the number of images in the catalog Capture One was importing. But even with a small 2000 image catalog I was not fully successful. I have not tried it in the latest couple of Capture One releases, so perhaps it works better now.
I continue to use the Lightroom Library Module to manage all my images. Most I will process in Lightroom, but Capture One consistently does a better job on those from my Leicas. So I also import them into a Capture One catalog for processing.0
