Capture Pilot running on iPad 1 vs iPad 2
Has anyone experienced a performance difference between iPad 1 and iPad 2 when running Capture Pilot? I tether high volume event photoshoots and I'm trying to optimize my workflow to handle browsing of 600 - 1500 thumbnails as fast and reliable as possible. I continually experience dropped servers (created ad-hoc via my MacBook Pro for ONLY the iPad connection) so I'm trying to explore where I can improve my workflow. I've attempted to only display the latest 200 images on the iPad by moving older thumbnails to a sub folder but I'm still experiencing slow load times and the dreaded dropped server. I'm assuming my issues are coming from maxing out the data transferred from the computer to the iPad but I've never considered the difference that the faster processor on the iPad 2 could have. Thoughts?

Besides that the iPad 2 gives you a better performance, moving away from an ad-hoc connection would be my first priority. You can optimize your workflow and performance by using a wireless access point that supports 802.11n connections (Apple's latest Airport Extreme devices have a good reputation).
Only a few images are cached on the iPad. As a result your Mac with Capture One (with the Capture Pilot tool enabled) are rendering the images in real-time when you browse images in Capture Pilot on the iPad. The more power you have in your Mac, the faster Capture Pilot responds.0
