Yes your patience is greatly appreciated. However, we have no new information on this camera.
Please check back periodically on our website for news on newly supported cameras.

Phase One Support0 -
Oh come on guy's all the major RAW converters except yourselves have issued an update to include the 40D and you cannot even give a date.
It's not like the 40D was a big surprise, so how come Adobe, Bible and a few others have support for the 40D and you do not.
Come on a bit of industry standard response please.
I realy regret buying c1 over rawshooter as I would have Lightroom with 40D support etc etc..
No 40D support, V4 B does not run on my machine 😭
So please at least a date for your customers.0 -
Your wasting your time even asking.
PO tell their customers nothing in these forums about updates etc, only how hard it is and that its a new camera etc.
All the other companies must have magic wands to get 40D support so fast.
I guess the kid that does the programming for PO is ill at the moment.
(yes, still frustrated at such poor customer support)0 -
I previously always recommended CO to friends and others on online forums I belong to, I stopped. The new equipment support is a joke. And the excuses are insulting.

The 40D support is being worked on as we speak. What we can communicate so far is that it will be implemented in CO 4.0 final, hopefully it will be implemented in RC of CO4.0 and CO 3.7.8 but we do not have the final confirmation yet. 0 -
Hi !
I am hardly waiting for the update- EOS 40D too. Since I am 52, my patience has grown up thru the years. And what else we could do ? C1 is still the best RAW converter. I tried DxO, Adobe, DPP,… Jpegs coming out of C1 are, no doubt – the most we could get out of RAW ! 🙄0 -

Agree with that. Thats why its frustrating having to wait.
But, the more i use DPP and ACR the more im getting used to them and my workflow is speeding up again.
Even with 40D support V3.7.x is lacking features now compared to even the most basic converters. Yes, colour is the best but can be matched with other converters, you just need to get used to them.
plus i use the 350D Etc profile with my 30D RAW files. Now i have the 40D there is no Etc profile for it so using C1 isn't such a big draw now.
Still miss it though.0 -
Unfortunately, I had to jump ship.
When I first started shooting RAW and was looking for the perfect RAW workflow, Capture One was the best and easiest one.
When I got my 40D and was forced to use something else, my first choice was DPP, since it was in the camera box. But after trying to use it for half a day, I could not deal anymore.
After looking around and testing different solutions, my choice fell on Adobe Lightroom. At first it felt confusing, but that's only the initial feel since I came from the really simple to use C1.
Sorry, but I couldn't wait any longer. For those of you waiting, I wish you good luck.0 -
Talk about patient, i have been waiting 5 months for real MkIII support. I will be plenty happy with a 3.7.8 update just so I can quick cropping off the bad pixels from the edges becuse of the beta support glitch. 0 -

That's ridiculous.
How do you expect people to wait until the 4.0 beta goes final several weeks or months from now?
Adobe had their 40D-compatible version of ACR available for download less than a month after the camera was announced in late August.
Inexcusable.0 -

I suspect Adobe use the DLL / library code supplied by Canon... I believe Capture One uses custom written code for better results, hence a slower time to market...0 -
So I nhave the 40D and been to program shows for the Adobe Lightroom 1.2 which reads the 40D but I don't like the way it handles the files.
i am so waiting for the 40D to be added to the Phase program... when... when... when.... this company is costing me so much in grey hair and most un needed frustration....
Do ya think by Christmass we will seea gift from this program and company!!!!!
Come on guys at PO let's get it together.... the 40D was built now almost a year ago and has been out for sale since Sept. 070 -
I find myself starting to get used to Canon's DPP 0 -
I've downloaded 30 days trial of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.2. At first program is really let’s say very different, but when you get used to, the result (jpegs) are far away from average. You have a lot of ways to improve the picture, which are not found in C1, even in version 4. The only thing I love in C1 v.3 is simplicity which is lost in v.4. 0 -
I downloaded Bibble Pro, and am getting used to it. Very similar to CO LE with more options. I think the quality is as good or better because the extra adjustments. Only draw back is the slight delay after adjustments. I'll give CO until my trial runs up. If its not done by then, they lost a customer to Bibble.

I've been using Capture One since the original C1Rebel release for the 300D/Rebel. I love the software. In that time, I've seen new cameras released, and the support almost always came many months after the camera was out. I experienced the frustration myself with the 20D and also the Epson RD1S.
There is no point trying to hassle these guys. They never move. It's like trying to push a rock 😄 You just have to accept it and either be patient, or move to something else. Myself, I am waiting for 40D support, and I've been here before. I am not getting stressed this time around. I'll make do with Lightroom and Silkypix until then.
On a brighter note, I do seem to recall that one of the "features" of release 4 was supposed to be that they would be able to add support for new cameras more easily. I don't know if this is still true.0 -
C1 v4 beta2 now supports EOS 40D 0 -

Very bad..............................
I was pretty excited to see that Capture One 4 best 2 was going to have support for the 40D, because I was excited to be getting away from Lightroom. Granted, there's a lot to like in LR, but I feel that the picture quality is somewhat diminished compared to the output from Capture One. But I digress.
Anyhow, when viewing RAW's using beta 2, my histograms are pushed rather severely to the left. nearly every historgram I look at has all of its peaks below the 50% mark, with much of the shadow detail blocked up all the way at the left and beyond. Conversely, my highlights are barely poking past the 50% mark, and I really need to crush the levels before I see anything overexposing, and I'm maxxing the shadow detail slider before I get even half of my shadow areas recovered. This effect is far more pronounced in RAW files I captured using the 40D's "Highlight Tone Priority" custom function enabled, which makes some sense, but I am seeing these results, to only a slightly lesser degree, with all of my images.0 -
I do not have any such problem. The results are pretty cool. You should maybe use sRGB profile in all settings for the beginning. 0
