Was it a mistake to release C4 so soon

It seems like Phase One P.O'd a lot of photographers with C4. I bring this up as someone just alerted me to:

Why did P1 feel the need to release buggy C4 in a beta stage? Obviously they didn't have time to implement user suggestions.

I will not be investing in Capture products because the cost of their conversions is too time consuming. Time=money, as they say. They also say first impressions of this company will last for those who are new to Capture 1 products. No way are they going to upsell C4 Pro with quality like this. What was their thinking? We want to know..

    Not very much information in the sportsshooter message. Don't neglect the error, but this is my take:
    I believe the application is running stable on clean installed machines and fairly stable on those in the field. The betas have generated considerable amount of information for that. My personal experience is positive on approx. 8 systems (50/50 Win/Mac with Mac CO4's running better, but who is to blame? <grin>).

    Crashes of CO4 does occur. However, I find the amount of reports not exceptional when I read this forum. I think PO is taking reports serious. CO4.0 is a new release. The next (4.1) will be more stable. If you need to be sure, always wait for the first update of a new release. Nothing new here.

    What is your own experience (instead of quoting others)?

    The next update could be either 4.1 or 4.0.1 or any other combination of numbers. The number I used in my posting was not meant to be taken literally and does not indicate a shorter or longer time span for its appearance.
