Apart from the fact - that it is now crashing every time I make any adjustments on previous sessions, on my macbook running Leopard. Seems ok on my Imac running Snow Leopard. Am going to upgrade the laptop to Snow Leopard tomorrow to see if this helps.

Try setting OpenCL-Support from „Auto“ to „Never“. Helped here.

Tried that, but to no avail - hopeless really - can open a session up, but the minute I make any adjustment - I just get the spinning ball of death. I really like this program - and it is the perfect solution for me - but it just seems very buggy to me. Even on 6.2.2 I would get fairly frequent crashes.

Not sure if my laptop is up to it. Its a Macbook 2.4 dual core processor with 4 gig of ram.

  • Have you tried resetting the preference and application support files in order to "reset" Capture One to defaults?

I don't think your computer power is the issue - of course a newer/beefier laptop would run C1 faster - but your computer is more than capable of running Capture One stably.

    As shown here:

Can you create a support case and provide specifics?
If you're not using the Lion OS then there may not be any reason for you to run Capture One 6.3 as it primarily address' changes to accommodate 10.7 Operating System.
    If you are reading this thread and using the Lion OS, however, I would follow Doug's suggestion but use the proper uninstall instructions for that OS listed below;

Sorry, I overlooked that bit. Since you're presumably on Leopard, upgrading to 10.6 at minimum is strongly suggested and I think you'll see some significant improvement 😉

6.3 still opens the previous session first before opening the one I click on so I always see two sessions open up each time I click on 1 session. Anyone else still having this problem?

So Drew have any of the tethering issues for canon cameras with 10.6 been addressed with the update to 6.3 or is it better to stay with 6.2.2?

In general what does the community find is the most stable combination of Mac OS and C1 versions? The most important issues for me being: tethering connection (canon & phase), overall stability, speed of thumbnail rendering?

Can anyone give me a compelling reason (speed, stability, useful functionality) to upgrade to Lion & C1 6.3?

    Thanks

Is the ideal set up for Snow Leopard to use Capture One 6.2.2 or 6.3?
I have no desire to upgrade to Lion yet but was just only had the time to potentially upgrade Capture One. I am running SL 10.6.6 and was planning on going to 10.6.8 and 6.3.
Is 6.3 required if only moving to Lion?

Most issues seem to be with importing from CF cards. I shoot tethered and am quite used to the occasional hang up, which I hope has been improved.

    Thanks

6.3 / 6.3.1 is only necessary if you are on Lion of would like to take advantage of the other small changes as listed in the release notes "Highlights" section.
