The LE version of Capture One does not offer any image scaling capabilities (well it does in the soft proof output, but not in the full processing). It only crops.

So you can not set the number of pixels in the output file, only the resolution. If you increase the reported dpi you will decrease the printed size of the image--but not the number of pixels.

Thanks Christopher for your kind and speedy coming back. I see the point, however, deeply disappointed of the lack of this feature, to be found in most other raw-converters' LE-versions. That seems to mean that one is obliged to let all file ouputs be in nativeTIFFs/JPG's and make further sizing in Photoshop, and how will that effect the quality of the image in its final output?

How are you handling f.inst a proper file size for E-mails - being usually set at about 800 pix at largest end, and 72 dpi? Would be grateful for hearing from you and/or others in this regards.

I said "soft proof" in my previous post, I meant "QuickProof". Check the Collection menu for the QuickProof option. It'll allow you to quickly make e-mail sized images. The only thing I don't like about this feature is one can't specify the largest image dimension, only a scaling value. So any images with crops applied will be smaller than the ones without.

I have C1Pro and have experimented with scaling the output. I find the quality (particularly interpolated) disappointing and not as good as is achieved with tools like Genuine Fractals. To get the best quality generate a 16-bit TIFF at native resolution and scale in Photoshop. This is a pity because I'd love to be able to do professional interpolation at the development stage.
