Skin tones...
Having spent the morning trying to get my white balance, color balance and skin tone workflow sorted, I could really do with some help. Capture One doesn't seem to be responding correctly. When I copy the adjustment from grey tones using alt plus the little arrows, then shift plus the arrows to apply to several other images, it doesn't respond. Anyone?
Also, I would be very grateful for any tips regarding getting skin tones right in post processing. I don't understand Capture One Pro 7's picker. How is it supposed to work? I looked for a tutorial but couldn't find anything detailed enough for pro 7, and 6 is significantly different.
The other issue is with my eye - Ihave a bad habit of giving my subjects jaundice! All tips for natural skin tones and for warming up British skin that looks slightly blue (!) gratefully received. Thanks!

There are sevaral way to copy/apply adjustments (menu, shortcut, toolbar buttons). I do not recognise your description as one of those. 0 -

As Paul mentioned, the keyboard shortcuts you mentioned.... don't do anything in Capture One which would explain why it isn't working for you. To copy adjustments the keyboard shortcut is CMD+SHIFT+C, to apply adjustments CMD+SHIFT+V, or you can click the copy and apply arrows in the upper right hand corner of the CaptureOne window... but I'm a keyboard shortcut guy. Also - nearly all of the shortcuts in C1 are customizable so you can change things by going to the Capture One menu, and then selecting "Edit Keyboard Shortcuts"[quote="NN634955292870770295UL" wrote:

The picker has a few different modes. The most common method (and best practice for color management workflow) is to use the "White Balance" mode, and then sample a shot with a white balance/grey card target. I use a ColorChecker Passport but you can buy grey cards at just about any pro photo supply store. They generally range from $20 to $100 depending on the kind you get and how serious you need to be about color management.[quote="NN634955292870770295UL" wrote:

Using a grey card to get your white balance correct will go a long way here. Use a grey card to neutralize the white balance in the shot, and then if you like add a little warmth by hand (season to taste).
That said - you also need to be sure the monitor you are using to edit on is calibrated otherwise what you see on screen will probably be different than anything you print. That's a different topic a little outside of the scope of the forum but if you aren't calibrating your monitor using a colorimeter (such as a ColorMunki or Spider Display Pro) then I strongly urge you to do some research on those devices. It'll be night and day for your final prints I'm sure.
That should just about do it. Good luck!0
