If I'm not mistaken, untagging can be done with cmd U.

It is not the thing I want .
cmd U makes all selected images utaggegd.

What I want is ability to go one step back ( undoing my recent change )
if I \" by accident \" select all and tag all images with something ,
destroying maybe elaborate work of previous tagging
( that could go in several levels , likesome images tagged
    with \"1\", some \" green \" and \" yellow\" ) .

Sorry if this was not clear ...

If you want to untag files (red, yellow, greeen or numbers)
Highlight the file you wan to untag and hit the \"zero\" key and that should untag it.

There is a huge diference between what I want and what you suggest .

Think about working with customer and making 3 different tags for diffeent images.
One goes green, one goes yellow, and one gets \" one\" .

Then you make some adjustment to all files and select them all .

Now by accident you push plus sign and all your images gets tagged \"green\"
    OOOPs !!

all selections are made equal ( green ) ,
no way to undo that stupid misstake .

Changing status of all files to \" untagged \" don't make my day better ....
I want to be able to undo latest tagging move .
So i Can get back those valuable \" customers picks\"

I can do it in Bridge and most other professional software that are aware that sometimes selection process can be as important as artwork creation itself ...
