Previews not saving

Anyone got any thoughts on why my previews aren't saving?

I leave it running, it says it's generating previews, come back and it has either started again. Or stopped. If I close Capture 1 then reopen it it has to build the previews all over again. The catalog size never increases in size.

Old catalogues are fine, just this new one. Have I inadvertently done something silly?

If I start a new catalogue, everything works fine, the catalogue size increases, but if I open the problematic one it says the size it was.

Of course I could just start over, but I'm loathed to do that because I'll lose all my adjustments - Of which I've made many.

Any ideas?

PS there's no Previews folder in the cache in the catalogue

  Try to repair the Catalog from the File>Verify Session or Catalog.
  If that yields no results, you can try to Export>Original from the troubled catalog and then create a new one, importing these files with the adjustments so nothing is lost.

  Thanks...What I eventually did was find my selected files and those I'd worked out, and just copy and paste the adjustments. luckily there weren't that many different batches.
  
  But thank you, if it happens again I'll try that before throwing things at my computer :0)
