Capture One 7 Issues
Hi,
I am a commercial photographer based in New Delhi (India),
My first introduced to Capture One was in 2004, since when I have been using practically all the successive versions of the software.
Previous transitions from CO4 > CO5 > CO6 were practically seamless, with minor glitches here and there. However, this latest transition from CO6 > CO7 has been particularly painful.
As a background:
I currently use 2 camera systems, always tethered:
Mamiya RZ67 with Phase One P45+ digital back
Nikon D800
on 2 platforms:
Mac OS X (10.6.😎 / Adobe Photoshop CS4 / 4 GB RAM
Mac OS X (10.7.5) / Adobe Photoshop CS5.5 / 8 GB RAM
These are the problems I have been facing with Capture One 7:
1) When running Photoshop alongside Capture One 7, Capture One tends to hang or quit on both platforms.
2) When transferring sessions between 2 or more computer systems, 'View > Sort' does not work at all in the transferred session.
3) With the P45+ digital back, Live View is extremely slow.
4) With the Nikon D800, the camera keeps getting disconnected in between shots.
5) Processing is extremely slow (particularly if other Applications are running in the background)
These were never issues with previous versions of Capture One, and I have taken a close look at all my system and Capture One settings and been unable to find any way around them.
Would appreciate any inputs to sort out these glitches.
Regards,
Shirish

I am having similar issues with the D800 shooting tethered with a MBP 8GB Ram and 10.6.8.
It's embarrassing to be on a location shoot and have to stop the shoot due to software issues.0 -
Are the Nikon D800 tethering disconnect issues specific to 7.0.2? Had not heard about it so far. 0 -
It happened to me as well on 7.0.1. I think it may be a USB3 issue. The saving grace is that the d800E was saving the frames in the buffer while I restarted C1 Pro and then they continued to come in when the camera reconnected. It's not ideal, but no frames were lost like with the Canon. 0 -
1) The tethering problems have been cropping up since I switched from CO 6 to CO 7
2) I received a response from the Support team at Phase One recommending an upgrade in RAM in order to avoid the conflicts with Photoshop and other background applications.0 -
Thanks for the feedback. 0
