Updates
There seems to be a lot of unhappy users of Capture One, and rightly so. I'm not going to rant and rave here because it won't do any good.
What I am going to do is ask why PhaseOne can't separate upgrades to accomodate new cameras as a separate issue from upgrades to improve features and fixes?
If you were able to, you would be in line with companies like Adobe who have been very responsive to making certain their customers continue to use software like Camera Raw and Lightroom in a timely manner.
You're working on new software now. Have you addressed this issue to alleviate this ungoing problem and frustration with users? Or, do you plan to continue your old ways and make customers angry?

This is really good idea to separate upgrades to accomodate new cameras (as many of you know, I have problem using my Pentax K100D Super in PEF format, because C1pro 3.7.7 won't recognize this camera RAW format) and improve features and fixes on the other hand. 0 -
Hi-
As you know Adobe is giant in this industry with plenty of resources $$.
A smaller company like ourselves are concerned with being the best in RAW conversion and making sure that we are supporting the Camera RAW files that
are the most popular and what the market demands in the Professional and Pro-sumer photographic industry. We may take a little more time then the "Big Guy", but we feel confident that our resources go to putting out a version of our software , we know , is going to get you the best RAW conversion and color rendition for those newly added supported RAW files.
Kind regards-

The part that PhaseOne seems to be missing was stated in your own words: ". . . what the market demands in the Professional and Pro-sumer photographic industry".
What the market appears to be demanding, as evidenced by all the complaints in this forum, is a better response time to their needs.
People are, many times, willing to go to a slightly inferior product in favor of other features. But, it is usually the "Little Guy" who can best respond in a timely matter because they don't have the red tape and more levels of management to go through to bring product to market. If this is not the case with PhaseOne, then maybe there is a problem in its corporate structure.
And, while you're perfecting your product, your users are out trying other alternatives, many of which may never come back due to poor product response time on your end.
When PhaseOne chose to open the software from dedicated PhaseOne users to accomodate all camera makes, you chose to service them in the way THEY expect to be serviced. In your words "what the market demands".
Having the best product is no guarantee of success, as evidenced by Betamax and Apple. Fortunately, Apple is finally beginning to change their ways and, in return, beginning to reap the rewards.0 -

I think that is a fair response in a way. But you boast that you have the best in RAW converters yet you ignore RAWs that are important to some users. And your claim to being the best is quite arguable and I won't get into it. You can't say your the best when your service is very narrow. At the moment the "Best RAW Award" has to be given to Adobe due to their complete support and they listen to their users.
I have a problem after buying your software when I did (serveral years ago), expecting like most RAW converter companys to support a complete array of camera RAWs from the smallest companys to the biggest. This excuse stating that Adobe is bigger than we are is lame. Only the best can overcome this obstacle, so if you are the best lets see it. I also see that you support cameras that I feel are in no way professional, so that argument can't be used. As for me, I have great interest in X3F since it has no mosaic schemes and probably would greatly benefit from the "expertise of C1" since you make such claims of the best.
I just want to see the best tackle the X3F RAW.
Thanks,

Rubbish.
Even some smaller companies had 40D RAW support within a couple of weeks after it came out. Even your V4b2 has it so why not V3.7.x? you now have the details you need to implement it.
That reply above seemed very condescending IMO. Sounded just like PR speak and didnt answer the question at all.
While i understand about PO having less resources than Adobe other smaller companies have managed it and PO have been very invasive about everything to the customers. Its no point having the best RAW converter (and i agree, it is) if no one is actually buying or using it because we have all had to change our work flow to ACR and this is happening, as im sure you are aware.
In my situation i got a 40D when they came out. my only option was to use DPP for a while until ACR was updated. Normally i would use C1 99% of the time. now i have been forced to learn ACR/PSCS3 i now no longer need C1 and wont be spending any more money with PO. Yes, ill get the free update when it comes out but only because i paid to get it.
People with 40D's who want to use C1 have to either try and use V4b2 and that leaves a lot of AMD users out or go elsewhere.

In Phase One fast support for new camera is only in my dream 😊0 -
To explain a little further, Phase One support for cameras takes a little longer because we are incorporating more development into each cameras processing. Processing algorithms are tailored to each one and each camera has to be specifically color profiled. We are not simply adjusting to the software to merely read the files and apply generic processing algorithms.
Capture One 3.7.x can be timely to update, its true (and yes developing new software along with the old certainly doe not help updates come sooner... for the time being). This was one issue we addressed specifically when designing Capture One 4.0 from the ground up. It has a completely new architecture that will allow for much easier camera updates. Expect that new camera support will be added much much quicker going forward.0 -

Ok.This is detail answer.
I have else one concrete question :
When Samsung GX-1S will be supported?
Im wait for this 3 months....0 -
When Samsung GX-1S will be supported?
Don't Know.
more honesty here...
New DSLR support is decided at our Headquarters in Denmark.
Customers may submit a Feature Request Case to Tech Support to offer a suggested model they'd like to see added to the list.
That is it.
Posting requests for model support again and again at this Forum, does nothing.
Submit Case, be patient and hope request is heeded.
The obvious here is to purchase a DSLR that is currently supported if one wants to use Capture One for RAW processing.
The List is posted here:
