Sort the "?" Preview Windows

The "?" can be avoided if you delete the files through Capture One.
When you delete the files through Finder or another software then it leaves the 'Proxie' file in the 'Capture One' sidecar folder. The software see's that file and tries to show the image, but as it has no RAW to reference you are left with the "?" symbol.
The easiest way to fix this is to quit Capture One and then delete the Proxies folder within the "CaptureOne/Cache/" folder among you RAW. When you restart Capture One the proxies will be regenerated (which will take time) but the "?" will be gone.

    Hi Drew-
Thanks. Unfortunately this is not working.
I am deleting the Caches folder that is associated w/ the session and the previews w/ the "?" are returning. I have also rebooted my computer thinking this may help. Any ideas?

Have you deleted the Caches folder that is in the Capture One sub folder of the images folder?
The Session folder should not be your reference here.

    Hi Paul,
I believe so. I went ahead and removed all the images from that folder and then reimported them into the session.
That was the only way I could remove those preview images.
If I can provide more info to help resolve please let me know and I will follow up.

    Thanks,

    Doug

    Drew:
One last question- You wrote that to avoid the problem of "?" to delete from within C1. I only see to remove the image from the album, not to delete the file. Is there a way I should approach this to actually delete the file, rather than just removing from the album?

Doug, select the image to delete from within the folder, instead of the album and you can delete it (move to trash or permanently).
