    Hi out there,

I´m working for a big online shop in their own studios, on new dell workstations, win7.
    Intel Xeon cpu, E5-1607 0 @ 3.00GHz
    NVIDIA Quadro 600
    16 GB Ram

    Canon 5D mk2 and mk3

On all these computers we have the same problem with renaming and wrong previews.

We programmed names like pt01. pt02. etc in the naming tool for the dropdown menu, scanning barcodes
    e.g. 0123456789.pt01.cr2

Sometimes it happens that we need to shoot one item again, so we delete the pt01 and shoot it again, or we just go on shooting, effecting a name like 0123456789.pt01_1.cr2, then delete the first picture and rename the pt01_1 in pt01.
in both cases very often the old/wrong preview shows up again.
only possibility so far is to make new previews what takes very long time and slows down the computer.

is this a bug? it seems that c1 doesn´t delete the preview and preferences when the picture itself is deleted in c1.

By the way, the cpu is fully busy on all cores only for developing RAW into srgb jpg´s...

    Cheers,
    Chris

What version of CO are you running ?
As a work-around, it might help to physically delete the CaptureOne folder in the folder you are shooting to, before you take the new shots with this naming.

CO using all cores when processing is by design. You can also try to run OpenCL to increase the speed a good bit. It can be enabled from the Preferences.

    We're using C1 pro 7.1.4 and 7.0
    Same issues on all versions.
Deleting all settings by deleting the Capture One folder is definitely helping, but then all settings are lost...
    Not really an option.
No OpenCL with NVIDIA Quadro 600... No good IT here... Obviously don't read system preferences before buying computers...
Seems like a bug in C1 which needs to be worked on, a real pain in the lower back!

but if you delete the pictures anyways, the settings are gone? Or you don't delete all the pictures?

In that case, you could create a new Capture folder.

well, all the settings remain in the capture one folder, meaning all the .cof, .cop and .cos files of those pictures I deleted are still there.
and here I think is the problem. when we shoot a file with an already existing filename, c1 doesn´t create a new preview file, it just takes the one already existing in the cache / proxies folder because c1 didn´t delete all the other belonging files.

it seems that this issue exists only on windows (7?). on my 2012 macbook pro this problem doesn´t show up.
when I delete a file here in c1 also the .cof cop. and .cos files are gone.

I am having the same problem! both batch renaming and manually/individually renaming files mess up with the preview. Sometimes both thumbnail and preview are wrong and sometimes thumbnail is correct and preview is wrong. If I zoon in 100%, it shows correct image but that's too time consuming. Actual file is fine (if I go to windows browser and go into Capture folder, all the images look correct), but it's not great at all because I want to crop then process. If the preview is wrong I can't crop right.

Also when I have to check the images to see if I captured everything before processing(i.e. we digitize a lot of bound volumes), I can't check the page numbers and the whole thing is just mess. I can rename later, but if the preview is wrong how would I know I got every single pages?? I'm wasting a lot of time recapturing and it's not good at all. Restarting program and computer doesn't fix it.

It didn't happen till Capture One 6. This started happening from 6 and now I'm using 7.1.4 (I think).
    I'm using Windows 7 too.

    Thanks!

    Right, exactly the same issues!
Have you also the wrong pictures processed? Our explorer even shows the "old" pictures when we process RAW into other formats... Quite annoying.

Are you deleting permanently or deleting to trash ?

How many pictures do you usually delete in one go ?

We're deleting just the one that's wrong and shoot it again.
It doesn't happen all the time, but for sure 80-90%

    Hiya,
Processed images are fine even tho preview is wrong. It does sometimes shows "old" image in browser/explorer, but after opening the image and refresh the folder, it fixes it. But it's just on normal browser and bridge, it doesn't fix on Capture One.

I think there must a way to refresh the thumbnail & preview, or that function is not working for us.

    Very annoying indeed.

I'm also deleting images into trash folder.

I also opened a ticket with the support team, looking forward what they find out.
I'm gonna share with you for sure!

We have this issue too - using Mamiya 645DF and PhaseOne P65+ back, HP laptop workstation running Windows 7. It's been hard to find others with this issue, and we've not had any response to our support enquiries.

Here's a video showing our problem:
