If you mean swap colors like photoshops channel mixer, you can't do that in Capture One. If you mean swap colors like select green and change it to blue your best bet is the advanced tab of the color editor tool. Select a color you want to change and move the hue slider. The hue slider only moves 30 points at a time out of a 360 degree color circle so you may have to select the same color several times and move the hue slider in each selection to get to the color you want. 0 -
I think I found a way to do this!
I'm on the trial of Capture One Pro 12, evaluating if it could meet my needs for a Lightroom switch. But I shoot in infrared and channel swaps are a pretty common part of the process.
It looks like it would be possible with an ICC profile that contains a channel swap LUT. I use a channel swap LUT for this in Lightroom but it's quite a bit easier because you can load the LUT into a camera profile directly, not an ICC profile. And since C1 can't import the ICC profile that a program like Photoshop outputs directly I had to get creative. Here's what I did:
1. Export an ICC profile with no color changes from Capture One Pro
2. Use the ICC Consortium's ICC Profile Inspector to export the LUT from the profile
3. Do some file magic to swap the profile's LUT with a channel swap LUT. Basically changed from a comma separated value file to a space separated value file
4. Reimport with ICC Profile Inspector
5. Import into Capture One
I did all that and it worked but it screwed up the color ranges quite a bit. I believe it relates to the InputCurves. I need a deeper understanding of how ICC profiles work. I'll probably get around to reading the spec eventually but if anyone here knows more about them I'd be happy for some tips. Otherwise I'll update here if I figure it out.0 -
Interesting approach, care to share a before and after of the changes or the ICC profile itself? I followed you all the up until the "Do some file magic to swap the profile's LUT with a channel swap LUT. Basically changed from a comma separated value file to a space separated value file" part.
It's been a bit since I shot any IR, I still do UV from time to time though. I've got an old full spectrum converted camera.
So how are the color ranges screwed up after the doing the ICC swap? When you exported the ICC from C1 (I'm assuming you did this using the color editor) did you try it with a Linear Curve and ICC Profile > Effects > no color correction in the Base Characteristics tool? These are the directions for creating an ICC using the X-Rite color checker, I wonder if it would be helpful in this case as well?0
