I'm a little confused by your experience too!

If I hit Cmd-D, Capture One just processes the selected image(s) using the selected process recipe(s) on the Output tab, without producing any dialog box, and it just creates the output files without further ado.

(I usually create my output that way, creating a JPG or TIFF file according to the selected recipe. But see also Export below.)

I don't mostly use the Export Images command on the File menu, though I think that some users go to that first because they are used to other apps that use Export terminology. However, you can create a JPG, or a TIFF, that way if you want to.

There are two options on the Export item on the menu, Export Originals or Export Variants. The Export originals option will bring up a dialog box including an checkbox for Notify when completed, which is selected by default. The Export variants option doesn't have that checkbox.

Could it be that you are using the Export Originals feature? I see no way of turning off or on a notification when the Cmd-D approach is used.

    Hi Ian,

That is correct, and that is the way I want it to be.

    Neither do I.

The message appears on both options - originals and variants

    No need to be insulting.

Does anyone else have an idea? Please? Like I said, the problem appears only on my laptop not on the iMac. And I made no changes in the defaults

    Dear all,

I'm a little confused. I'm running CO 10 on both, MacBook Pro and iMac. Since I've upgraded to 10 I always get two dialogue boxes when I export my pictures. I'm doing my adjustments and when I hit CMD D an extra window is opening where I can set my export settings, name the files etc. Then, when the export is finished, an extra window appears telling me that the export is complete. It's a nuissance and I'd like to get rid of the the two dialogue boxes.

Can anyone help? Btw: this only appears on my laptop, not on the iMac…

There are two ways to get images out of CO: exporting and processing. Just terminology, but important to separate.

'Export' saves a copy of your raw image.
'Export with Adjustments' saves a copy of your raw and sidecars with adjustments.
Both have a dialog how and where to save. That's necessary, because they save copies of the originals and therefore cannot use the process recipe.
The dialog has a checkbox: 'Notify when completed.' Uncheck to get rid of the 2nd message.

'Process' saves an adjusted image in the format of your choice according to your process recipe. There are no additional dialogs, unless there's something special happening.

<CMD> + 'D' should be assigned to processing. But somehow it seems to be assigned to exporting. Checking and correcting your keyboard shortcuts should do the trick.

    Hans,

you saved my day. That was the trick I was looking for. Somehow the shortcuts got mixed up. So grateful for your help. Thank you so much for your time to reply.

    Best wishes

No intention to be insulting - I just meant that I was finding it hard to figure out too! I'm glad that Hans managed to work it out for you.
