Camera support - a serious question
If I can see the new Hasselblad 1XD in my future, then is Capture One for me? From what I can see, CO doesn't presently support any Hasselblad cameras, so I guess I shouldn't expect that position to change. Would that be a fair assumption?

You would use Hasselblad software; Phocus.0 -
My understanding is that when it comes to medium format cameras, Phase One (reasonably enough) support their own cameras but not other manufacturers' models.

It's a general expectation (and confirmed by support staff in an old thread) that anything (other than their own products) in the medium format range is very unlikely to get support. C1 is used as a selling point for their own offering. Although, never say never, and I would strongly suggest that PO opens up their software for others. C1 can't be the sole differentiating factor between a PhaseOne and a Hasselblad or a Pentax.
While it appears that smaller format cameras would be well supported, I just had to learn that this is not the case. Nikon's 1 J5 for example is not supported (being released well over a year ago), despite all other ones of the series are. Upon inquiry, I was told that "there was not much demand" for it. Well, that's lovely, the next time I want to buy a camera I have to hope & pray that "there is enough demand" for it? I mean, wow! Why do I need C1 again?0
