Thumbnail ordering issue

I'm having an issue with thumbnails in one of my folders in a session browser going a bit haywire in terms of filenames, order, etc. Only in one folders and all other folders are fine.
I have tried regenerating previews and verifying session.
No joy there so any other way to rebuild / fix or similar a session?

  I would replace the session file. This means delete the .cosessiondb file and create a new session with same name and location.
  
  Note: this will remove session albums and favorites as well.

  I agree with Paul but you might be able to think through a way that will just remove the problem folder first to see if that then leaves the rest of the folders still OK.
  
  If it does it may have removed all references to the problem folder - in which case adding it to the session again might (or might not) prove to be a fix.
  
  I had something in a session when using V7 a year and a bit ago that produced some odd results (not quite as you have described) when scrolling for image to image in the browser. A single "bad" (visually corrupt) image seemed to be the problem. I deleted the edit (not the RAW) and all was well. I made a new edit and all stayed well. I think it was to do with indexed links in the sessiondb file becoming corrupt enough to lead to false links within the database and thus the process hanging/crashing. That was a Windows system but they all have their potential problems somewhere in all that goes on between the application and the disk storage.

  Thanks for these ideas.
  My mistake here but it was actually in a catalogue that this folder was causing the issue. It shows up fine in the session ( it is in the system folder section not session folders as it is a folder of jpeg exported variants, but same folder in catalogue shows up with the issues.
  
  So regarding catalogue, can I do similar rebuild etc?
  
  I am also suddenly having issue with two other larger catalogues I have made (imported from lightroom) working very well for first few days, then without any alterations, taking ages to load / not loading at all.
