Cannot Create Layer from Selection

Is this a new bug I wasn't aware of? I goto advanced color, pick my color and "create masked layer from selection". Nothing.

I get a layer but no mask.

I also created a layer and picked a color. Cannot adjust color within a layer. What is going on??????

  I use C1 on Windows 10 and reported a layer-no-mask issue a couple of months ago, but my case involved normal brushing. Since then I have seen various messages where I have wondered if there is a common cause. Some have hinted towards the Wacom (driver), and I do indeed use a tablet.
  
  In my case the solution proposed by Phase One was to reinstall from scratch just to see if that helped. I decided not to reinstall, but to wait for the next upgrade (the now current 11.2.1). The problem shows up less frequently, but it is still there. Restarting C1, or rebooting may help.
  
  I suggest you report the problem to the support team.

  11.2.0.121 on WIndows 7 here.
  
  Create mask from colour selection in the Advanced colour editor and selecting a colour within a layer are both working as expected.
  
  The only thing I have seen in this regard is with very light colours where there is in fact almost no colour "block" to see and a finely selected mask may have nothing to show much beyond the individual pixel level. Viewing at 100% (or larger) can sometimes show what is going on in such circumstances.
  
  In theory the same apparent oddity can apply in very dark areas too for an highly specific selection but that is rarer in my experiences.
  
  If that is not the situation you are working with then you may need to assess the log files to see if any problems are being reported. (As you likely already have done.)

  3/4 into my morning coffee and I stumbled upon the problem and solution.
  
  There was no color profile assigned. I fixed that and all is well. This was an old photo and It was still using the Capture 1 V10 engine. That prolly didn't help things either.

  Let's get some more coffee poured into my head.
