Deleting folders in C1 doesn't delete them in Finder

I'm using a referenced catalog in C1. When I use the C1 interface to create a folder, it also creates the folder in Finder. But if I use C1 to delete a folder, it doesn't delete in Finder. Is this expected behavior or am I not doing something right? Running C1 10.1.2 on MacOS 10.12.5.

  Within that workflow, C1 and referenced catalog, and you choose to delete a folder, you are simply choosing to not have the folder referenced any more in C1.

  Thanks! That's too bad. I get the feeling C1 isn't optimized for a reference catalog. It takes a very long time to start C1 on my MacBook Pro when I use a referenced catalog. It's about 10x faster with a managed catalog for the same files. I've tried it. Anyway, I digress.

  What do you mean by "very long time" ? It takes less than 10 seconds with my 18k pictures referenced catalog, except if I open C1 with "all images", of course......

  I barely use Catalogs anymore. I'm much happier with Sessions. It feels more nimble and flexible.

  Yes, but I very often need to find a picture, among my 18k, with some text (name of person, place, flower,...) and sessions are not very well suited to do it, except if you already have an independant DAM software.
  But DAM softwares don't take into account adjustments made within Capture One....
  But all this is a digression.

  True. Sometimes I think my DAM is a mix of my brain (unreliable) and the Finder (limited), not perhaps the greatest of combos.
  
  I'm underwhelmed by any DAM since Aperture however.

  Hi tenmangu81, it took my 2015 MacBook Pro 15", 16GB RAM a little over 40 seconds to open a test referenced catalog of only 7300 images. But the managed catalog took a little less than 10 seconds. So 10x was an exaggeration, but 40 secs feels sluggish. I'm going to switch to the managed catalog because that seems to be where Phase One is focusing their development effort.
  
  Thanks everyone for your input. It has helped me decide between managed vs referenced vs session based workflows.
