PhaseOne Pro for Sony and DNG
Hello,
I used to work on lightroom with my Sony A7 files. Unfortunately i converted a lot of them to DNG format and don't have the original ARW file.
If i were to switch to CaptureOne for Sony can i import the DNG of sony Images there?
Thanks in advance
Guido

Should be possible, I'm using DNG also sometimes 0 -
Do you have the Sony only version of PhaseOne?
I know that the full PRO version can import DNG files but I would like to know If the Sony only version can do that too if DNG files comes from a Sony camera.0 -
I don't think it can. You can always try : download the app, run it as trial with the Pro for Sony licence, and see if it works. 0 -
I tried importing one of those DNG files with the Trial version of PhaseOne and it seems to work fine, I can work on it.
Also tried to load one DNG file which came out of my LG phone and it does import it but it won't let me edit It, as expected.
Seems like Capture One doesn't care if it is DNG instead of ARW as long as It was taken with a supported Sony camera.
My only doubt if this try version is exactly the same as the version I will install.0 -

The only difference between a time limited trial and a non time limited installation or subscription arrangement is the activation activity undertaken using the key provided after payment method is selected and paid for.

Don't reinstall the app, there's only one version to download so your trial version is exactly the same. What you'll have to do is activate your paid licence.
Just make sure that your trial is indeed the Pro for Sony version and not the full-fledged Pro version.0 -

I have loads of a850, a700, and a77 files in DNG format. At the time, Sony cameras offered compressed and uncompressed RAW. One could import the uncompressed RAW file as a DNG (into Lightroom), and the file size was less than the in-camera compress RAW.
I have no limitations using P1 pro (for Sony) with my Adobe DNG files from Sony cameras.
