Removing CO-8
I just upgraded from version 8 to version 9 and am removing version 8 from my system. CaptureOne does not seem to have an uninstall app so my question is whether or not sending the version 8 app to the Trash will completely remove it. Or are there other files that also should be removed?
I have App Cleaner on my system but it is telling me to remove the CaptureOne folder in my library and I know I can not do that without causing problems. Does anyone have a list of what should be deleted?

....Thanks for the link but crikey!! Why can't Phase One write an uninstaller script like most other software developers do and so make the process user-friendly?0 -
Just because some users like to have 9 and 8 version in parallel for example, and C1 is installed without installer. 0 -

....Thanks for your reply but I asked why uninstalling version 8 could not be an OPTION while installing version 9. That would satisfy the 'parallel' users as well as everyone else.
Such an option is common in most software installers so why not Capture One?
EDIT :
I have just realised/remembered that C1 doesn't use an installer ☹️0 -

....Reading through this, am I correct in thinking that if I first upgrade my OS to 10.11 (from 10.10.5 Yosemite) then I won't have to delve into the scary and risky area of writing 'terminal commands', please?
Would you advise installing Capture One 9 before or after removing version 8, please?0 -

What they are asking you to do with Terminal is very low risk. You copy the line from their webpage, paste it into Terminal, (check beginning and end to make sure it's all there), then hit enter. If you did somehow add, delete or change a character, all you will get from Terminal is the machine equivalent of "I don't understand"0 -

So this is odd. I don't seem to have the Capture One Library folder anywhere on my system and I don't have a filed called Capture One.col anywhere. I've installed Capture One 9 and moved CO8 to the trash and everything seems to be working. Could those files have been deleted when I moved it to the trash? I'm running Capture One on a MacBook Pro with El Capitan and all the latest updates. 0 -
You fine just remove CO8 to trash, and use CO9 and it will load you setting from CO8.
The manual steps are required when you want a clean install.0
