Is folder management buggy in Windows 7?
I'm not having any luck trying to create subfolders. Tried it by right-clicking the parent folder, but nothing happens. No folder naming field appears. In Windows explorer though, a "New folder" is created in the right place. Repeating produces "New folder (2)" but nothing in the MP folder tree.
So I opened the same catalog on another machine (same windows setup) and this time right-click works. But... the folder I named "Test" is created above the drive level as a unique parental entry, even though I directed it to be a subfolder.
Strangely, this single step resulted in the creation of two identically named folders in MP tree, one in the right place and another at the root level. They both point to the same folder. I don't know how to create subfolders so it works, or if deleting one of the two new folders will actually delete both on the drive.

Okay, seeing something finally.
This issue happens on two of three machines. I 'feel' like it is related to the use of image file sync over the network. Does anyone know if MP relies on UNC file paths in any way, at least for folder creation?
There are no problems opening any synched image file or the catalog (itself synched) from all 3 machines. Everything is perfect except new folder creation. The issue is just when MP writes a new folder to the catalog. It wants to recreate the entire path alongside the existing folder tree. So I end up with these two things...
D:\Canon 5D\2009\NewSubfolder (as a single folder)
(without any change or additional folders added to)
D:\Canon 5D\2009 (normal full folder tree)
It won't create a new folder in the existing hierarchy, except on the machine it was first installed on. That makes me think the UNC path is store in the catalog file. Is this possible?0
