Tethered sony A7 problem with RAW
When shooting tethered I previously had no problems shooting raw to capture one with a 5 meter cable,
now it is only possible with a 3 meter cable.
I have tried with a active usb 10 meter cable with the same result.
If the camera is set to xfine jpegs or any jpeg they are transmitted through the 10 meter active usb cable with no problem , but as I have said it seems that raw images do not get transmitted down a cable longer than 3 meters.
If I shoot raw on a cable over 3 meters all that happens is" 1 image pending " is displayed on the toolbar just below the balance adjustment option. this just hangs there till i disconnect the camera.
Please have you any suggestions anyone ??
the camera is capturing raw images to the sd card ok and they can be imported ok
raw images down a short cable also ok just again tested.

Same camera, same computer and same cable?
Any software/firmware/hardware revisions to the camera or computer?

Same every thing and nothing added or removed from the computer since the last known working time,
That's what I don't understand. It occurs to me I should do tether import to lightroom or to a hot folder and see if that works to prove cable /camera/ software fault.
What fools me is the fact the JPEGs at full size download to c1 even overhe long active usb cable with no problem,
It's as I the larger raw file is causing a hold up.0 -
Definitely a puzzle then.
If you have not already done so I would suggest you raise a Support Case.
Meanwhile .... have you had a look at the CaptureProcess.Log file? It may not make any sense of course without detailed knowledge of what it reports. On the other hand there may be something in there that suggests some tests that could be undertaken.
It's a cumulative file (or at least it is on my system) so you should see entries that relate to both your successful and unsuccessful captures.
Folder is:
(Disk >) [username] > Appdata > Local > CaptureOne > Logs
HTH.
