Errors Printing
Hi Everyone.
I just got a new Epson Surecolor 800. I have a show coming up and I keep getting errors in printing. Calibrated monitor but colors are coming out different so I have to guess. Using local adjustments color editor. Hit m key but can't see mask.
So I make a mask, but on the screen the variant shows the change then zaps back to where it was. Strange behavior.
Changing combinations for printing and getting lots of errors.
There isn't much detail for troubleshooting in the new book or in webinars.
Anything sound familiar? Anyone can help?
I decided to go wholly COP but all these errors are taking so much time. Thinking I might just open in ACR AND PS and work there.
If I do that, does the ACR change the renditions of the raw converter in COP? If so, how do I go right from COP into PS without opening in ACR? Even if I ask the file to open in PS, it still goes through ACR.
I am trying to make up for all these days of lost time.
Thanks
Shoshana

You need to do "Edit With..." or use a "Process Recipe" to produce the file, not "Open With..."
"Edit With..." will create a "backed" file with all CO adjustments put it. I always set the output to 16bit TIFF, but you may pick 8 Bit TIFF or even JPEG.
"Open With..." will send the actual RAW file to PhotoShop which then needs to run it through ACR to get something that it can edit.
