RAW FILE and DNG SUPPORT
I am a user of Capture One for many years and use it for my P25 and Nikon D2X NEF files. Because of the vast amount of info that I shoot every year (about 2TB/yr) it is becomming critical to find an archiving solution where I can maintain a searchable database of all RAW images shot that can be searched using the IPTC data all controlled at a server level. Phase One does not offer a product on for a server yet that acts as a DAM. So I am looking at the server version of Portfolio 7. But Portfolio does not \"see\" Phase One RAW files except as a small thumbnail. The other problem is that Phase One RAW files do not contain the IPTC data info inside the RAW file and I find this troublesome - the solution may be converting the Phase RAW into the new DNG format which I hope Capture One will support as announced before the end of the year. Does anyone have experence with this process/workflow? Does anyone know when Capture One will release a version with DNG conversion support?
Thanks - Peter

DNG support has been announced and is a plan of the recently publicide 18-month roadmap. Exact version number and date for this to be released has not been announced. 0 -
Will it be possible to convert old raw files so that portfolio can see them.
What is the current recommended workflow to get around this problem.?0 -
I can not comment exactly on how a future feature will work, but it would suprise me if you would not be able to do this. 0
