CR3 Support
Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing the new Canon EOS M50 as a secondary travel camera. Will there be support for the new CR3 RAW format?

Don't ask us - we're just other users. If you want this, request it from Phase One through a support case.

This forum is hosted by PhaseOne. Adobe's hosted forums often have questions answered by Adobe employees.
If PhaseOne intends to compete with Adobe, they should designate (or hire) an employee that participates in the user forums.

Also an excellent suggestion to make in a support case. Others here could do the same if we think it is a good idea.0 -

I just submitted a request to Phase One. I hope all the M series do the same!
We own an M100 and will get an M50 on Friday. An exciting change from the heavy 6D and EF lenses. But I miss using C1 as it does such an amazing job on the FF RAW files.0 -
Phase One employees do participate on this forum from time to time.
I have no doubt Capture One will support CR3 files, why wouldn't they?0 -
Been demoing Capture One today there's no support for my Canon M50 Raw files I had to use Adobe converter. Impressive software though I tried CC Lightroom the photo view size is just way too small on my screen. Capture one ticks a lot of boxes I like the GUI the tools don't take up too much space and the edits look impressive compared to the other software I've tried. 0 -
With some luck (as the Canon R is out...) we may see CR3 support in the Fall release of version 12. My uneducated guess is around November 15 - December 15 time frame. Given the amazing quality of the 50mm 1.2 from Canon on the FF format, I suspect C1 will need to meet new challenges to keep its engine at the top of the list.
But I know it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, DPP is quite fine.0
