Capture One 7 vs Capture 8

I just purchased a Phase on DF body, Schneider 80 and P25 back. I can't download the New version of C1 8 due to my IMAC
has 10.7.5 and I need at least 10.9 for Ver 8 Pro. Do I use C1 7 or have to upgrade my IMAC to 10.9 ti be able to use C1 Ver 8 Pro? I shoot mainly portraits and group shots so I don't know if I really need the Latest C1 8 Software. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks Dennis
