Isn't that what a mask created from a colour selection is all about?

In any case if you want Phase to consider this your best option is to create a Support Case entitled "Enhancement Request: " <summary description>" and bring it to the attention of the development team that way so they can consider it.

The Support Case system is how Phase assess and review such requests.

Maybe I didn`t explain it properly.

Say I want to adjust a particular skin tone in an image where there is 2 people and where the background is also pastel and close to skin tone colours. I create an adjustment layer and I mask the area I want to affect when I select the skin and click "view selected colour range" it shows that colour everywhere in the image but I am working on a specific area. I would want to see only that area the rest is distracting and makes it harder to tweak my colour selection.

Select the colour range you want to adjust in the Advance colour editor tab.

Use that to create a mask selected by colour on a new layer.

Erase the mask for the areas you do not wish to adjust with the mask toggled to display.

    Turn the mask off.

Make the adjustments in the area you are interested in.

If you feel the need to see the area selected by colour you can switch the mask back on for a moment. Maybe useful if the adjustments don't seem to be doing quite what you expect. It is usually helpful to review that sort of assessment at 100%. (i.e. 1:1)
