Rotate and Crop
Just feel like I'm missing something very basic.....
First question is, how do you set Capture One so it maintains the 4x6 aspect ration when rotating? There has to be a way, but I'm not finding it. Right now, I freehand rotate, and then have to go to crop tool and drag the edge to bring it back to 4x6. Obviously this is not a usable option for working an entire wedding.
Second question is, are there any tips people have for making the crop and rotate functions more usable? Without mentioning names of that other program, it's quite quick and easy to grab an image and rotate/crop. These two functions seem to go together, and yet they are independent in Capture. Would love to hear workflow tips from anyone.
Lastly, trying to determine if it's my computer or the program which causes both the crop and rotate functions to be so laggy. Do people find that with the i7 computers loaded with ram, the lag goes away, and it becomes a smooth process?
Thanks for the help!

Every version of CO I've used maintains the aspect ratio after rotating. What ratio is it changing to? That is strange behavior. 0 -
1) Can't say I've ever seen the Aspect Ratio change after it's placed... rotate or not
2) Shortcut Key's help make rotating a bit more snappy (Option+CMND+L, Option+CMND+R)
3) Everything seems smooth on my MacBook PRO i70 -

Live is great on Mac Drew, but I suspect the OP is running some sort of Windows...0 -
That's understood, but an i7 is an i7... just providing what I can. The keyboard shortcut fix is applicable as well. 0 -
Rotate and crop seem to hold up okay in the Windows version that I use (XP). A work around for me going back to Ver 3, try letting CO create all the previews, then restart the program before doing any rotations/cropping. Hope it helps. 0
