More problems then I know what to do with
I cannot remember a program with more bugs than this one. I have 7.1 and I cant get five minutes of this piece of junk working! It crashes when I shoot tethered, it freezes on processing, it scrambles images and more. Hell Ive sent more crash reports to phaseone that I can shake a stick at. What the heck is wrong with this program. The prior version seemed to work as needed, with crashing a bit of a concern, but these other things are impossible. Ive got 46 more days on my trial.
If I cant get the bugs worked out of it Im finished with C1pro. I am totally disgusted with this upgrade.

You should open a support case with Phase One and enumerate your issues. They are very helpful people but you have to make the first move. 0 -

I don't think that is very fair to Paul. He is not employed by Phase One. He is one of the most helpful people/users here on the forum. Rather often he can provide answers and tips. Very often the non-operational status of the software is due to user behaviour or other problems on the user's system. If not, he is usually the first one to report bugs to Phase One.
So, i also cannot stop laughing, but that has nothing to do with Paul 😄 😄 😄0 -

There was a support case from you about a month ago and performance concerns were discussed. We never heard back from you but are still available to help you look into your system if you wish. I am sorry if you feel like this update is not fixing any issues but we can verify from thousands of other users as well as extensive testing that 7.1 has addressed many, many issues (certainly not all but we're still working on it).
I'd simply suggest that you follow up with your support case and we can try to help you get underway in an efficient manner. As you haven't purchased the software yet, what do you have to lose?0 -

Following up on this...
I searched through our database and found one single crash report, from the 17th. The description and details were empty, we can only see that you were using an older Macbook Pro so the hardware specifics would likely be crucial to your performance.0 -
The last contact I had from you said to update to 7.1 from 7.01 which I did. Nothing changed. Every time I have crashed I have submitted or at least clicked the submit crash report. Sometimes it said something to the effect that there was an error in being able to send the report.
As for an older MacBook Pro, it is a maxed out 8 gig 17 in hi rez computer. I am still running 10.6 because I was advised by Apple Care to stay on it until it can fix some issues. Also because many of the plugins and other important programs were not up to speed yet. Many of the problems Ive stated here in this forum are not stand alone issues by just me. Virtually every issue Ive mentioned has been mentioned by other people here. We depend on a program that works as needed. With very few exceptions all of us can be guilty of "operator error" or lacking the developers knowledge. We use it on photo shoots and depend on it working or at least not hindering the process. All I ask for is a program that is stable. You can blast me for and old computer or not knowing how to use it or not receiving enough crash reports but, the issue is that the platform is not stable. When it works, its great. But you guys need to feel what its like to be standing next to your client as the CEO of a company walks in for his portrait and then try to do a tap dance while shutting down your camera, restarting your program, usually by Force Quitting because it wont even respond to a normal quit. Then you will see why the frustration we feel.
I do appreciate those who developed this program. Im wondering if anyone other than users even read these forums. If you are then you see that there are serious issues that need to be addressed. When it happens, I will buy the program gladly.
I will send every single crash report from now on so you will see. To be totally honest with you, I never thought anyone actually looked at those reports. Ive never gotten any response from a crash report.0 -
I will say that I read here somewhere last night about changing some preferences from Auto to Never has helped a bit.
Wish I could find it so I could give credit to the person that posted it. If you havent done that I would suggest doing it.
It has helped slow down the crashing. Still doing it but not as much.0 -

We review them after a release to determine the progress of solving issues BUT more importantly we (Phase One Tech's) look them up when a support case is provided to determine the cause of the error.
I will ask you once again to follow up with a support case and provide us details so we can assist you.
Log files, System Profile, System Crash Reports, etc.0 -
Ok Drew, I will do that. I dont know if you read my recent post about changing preferences. It has helped a bunch. I think that, if it continues, will fix many of the problems. Can you tell me if that change is as big and as important as it appears?
Hardware Acceleration from Auto to Never.

It depends on your system but can make a great deal of improvement if the system is not correctly working with the Graphic Card and driver.0 -
Ok Drew,
Ive submitted a support case, however, the prefs change may have done the trick.
For now, I have not had any of the previous problems.
