DNG - Discarding all changes
Is there any logical reason why it is not possible to keep the changes made to a file when exporting it as a DNG-file? I´m using the DNG format for my whole archive. Used to transform it with LR, which is also used as the catalogue program for my archive. Now, with loosing the ability of keeping the modifications for a file it is not possible to catalogize it with LR. (Even iview cannot show the "Tif" files in correct size. Importing the files as PhaseOne Tif to LR also does not keep the settings of the files.
And using C1 4.6 as an archive program ist absolutley useless.
Is there any hope of correcting this failure or does anyone know a workaround?

You are right, but, LR has the same problem. Both programs can read dng's saved from their program , but not the other. I am rethinking how to incorporate various programs within my workflow. It would be nice if one could work a file in CP1P and then take into CS4, LR2, or Lucis6P for finishing; and then bring it back into CP1P to make a few other tweaks if necessary, such as cropping. Right now once you go to another program, CP1P is done working with the file, beyond viewing it.
Another issue is LR2 reads C1P tifffiles and C1P reads LR2 created tif's; however, C1P can not work on a LR2 tif. So, everything must go from C1P first.0 -
@Tilman: CO 4.6 should be able to read and adjust raw DNG (that excludes linear DNG) from Adobe converters.
@NN: CO (any version) was never able to adjust TIFF or JPEG files from any source, not only from LR2.
A fully supported DNG/XMP workflow with IPTC4 support with exchange between CO and other programs is currently not available. Not sure we will have it one day, but IPTC editing support is one of the features on Phase One's list to add to CO 4.x Pro/DB, IIRC, so some improvement could be expected (at least I do) in the near future.0 -

Thanks for the response. The IPTC support really bugs me. The other is just wishful thinking.0 -

Thank you for your answer, but this does not solve my problem. I don´t wnat to work on DNG files coming from Adobe Converters, I want to keep the changes made to files when archiving them as CO converted DNGs redaing them in LR.0
