Problems with importing and viewing files

As another user has said, I find the workflow very unintuitive and complex. Ideally I would like to see my windows folder hierarchy from which to choose images but it seems that you have to import folders individually. I succeeded in importing one folder which had a number of sub folders which appeared as a hierarchy, but I tried again with another and it ignored the sub folders and lumped all the images together. I am sure that I ticked the box to load sub folders. I tried loading again and the result is that I have two copies of each image ( other programs warn about duplicates). Finally in the course of trying to familiarise myself with the program, I find that I can no longer access one album of images, and somehow I seem to have deleted them from the album although the album title remains. The images themselves are however still in the catalogue but with many thousands of images it is not very practical to access them from there.

Capture One produces some very impressive results, but even though I have spent an entire day on trying to figure it out, I am beginning to feel that life is too short to tackle this. There needs to be a much better manual I feel.

Any help to enlighten me would be much appreciated - I have Capture One 7 express and am wondering whether the upgrade will be worth it - clearly not unless I can get a grip on being able to access images in the first place!
