Using Spyder Checkr

Hi,

I'd like to have at least one PhaseOne representative to answer to the following question.

Now I just purchased the Datacolor Spyder Checkr to enhance my color management from end to end. I was planning on creating color profiles with Argyll for each lighting situation in the studio.

Would it really be true that CaptureOne actually recognises the common color charts and using the "Auto" button in the Color Editor would actually do all that is needed with my Spyder Checkr color chart?

If not this would be a real improvement because as far as I can find information about these charts is that only the Adobe products are supported by both Datacolor and the other guys making the Gretag MacBeth charts. and THAT is exactly something real pro's need, consistent color management.

  Does Capture One recognize that there is a full range of colors that it must read and account for in order to provide an accurate "Auto" adjustment? Yes.
  Does Capture One recognize that the scene contains a Color Check Chart? No.
  
  The Auto adjustment works the same no matter what is in the image, it evaluates the content of the image and finds what it interprets as the present "neutral" value. Then it adjusts accordingly. With a color checker in the scene and relatively even light, all necessary information is clear and present to make for an efficient and effective Auto Adjustment.
  
  I think the author of that article summed up their experience simply when they commented "I don’t know how C1 processes or reads it, I just know it works."

  OK, thanks to clear that out. I was under the impression that CO detects and recognizes the color charts.
  
  Is there a tool other than the opensource Argyll that would create more precise adjustements in CO with a color chart?
  Like, for instance, how do you guys create your camera profiles?
