Remove spot circle

How do u delete the circle to remove spot or dust? In dust & spot line 9 says "Remove a spot by pressing the - (minus) button." Apparently it does neither, not the spot and not the circle? The spot is removed just by putting the circle around it.

  When you are using the "spot" tool, the circles show where the system is fixing the image.
  
  So lets say you fix 10 spots, then decide that you don't like how the 5th spot was fixed, and would like to remove it. You get the spot highlighted, then hit the - (minus) button to remove that spot from being fixed.
  
  So the - is more remove the selected spot from being fixed, not fix the image.
  
  When you are done fixing spots, select any other tool and the "circles" around the spots will be removed, select the spot tool again, and the circles show up showing where the system is fixing the spots.

  With the Spot Removal tool, you can walk through all your 'spots' with the forward/backward buttons (< and > symbols). The selected spot lights up in orange (assuming you have the spot cursor tool enabled). Next, you can change the size, type of the spot and remove it with the minus button of the tool.
