Lens model in caption bar
I come from Aperture and i'm using different cameras and different lenses.
What about the possibility to clearly see both the camera and lenses model in the caption bar under each picture ?
In Aperture both were present, in C1 every time i have to look inside the exif data. Really boring
I don't know if anybody submitted this request in the past
Thanks for comments

I haven't submitted a request, but I do miss the ability to show selected metadata in the thumbnail top and bottom margins. 0 -
This was actually one of the earliest feature request I submitted right after migrating from Aperture.
Support thanked me for it and noted it, but I guess this has been put down the list or maybe forgotten in the meantime.
I can't imagine that this would be hard to implement. In addition to camera and lens model it would help me a lot if capture date and time would be shown. I mean, given the small font used for this caption line and todays screen resolutions, there is a ton of empty space which is currently unused.
One of the many "low hanging fruits" they are leaving hanging in my opinion. That's the kind of stuff I would expect to be added in point releases.0 -
They made promises to Aperture users and now in v.9 we got a better keywords management, but they forgot to do the easy thing that is to show basic info under the picture.
Is there a form or something in the site to submit a request ?0 -

Use the "Contact technical support" link on this page:0 -

Why not just solve all of the possible requests, since there is no room to fit everything that people might request in the space under the image all of the time, by setting up a personalised Workspace with a floating Metadata tool opened to the tabs you feel would be most useful?
Ideally your second screen would be in play here - unless of course you have a 4k or 5k screen in which case there may well be plenty of screen area to play with already.

Yes exactly, why not?
Because what you've just described is the basic metadata display functionality available in Aperture since Version 1.0 in 2005.
In Aperture you can fully customise the metadata overlays. You can even seperate between what is displayed below the picture (as a transparent caption) or what is displayed as a "tooltip" that appears after you hover with the pointer over a picture for a few seconds.
Which brings me back to the point I made here many times: if Phase One just once in a while would take a peak at what Apple brought to the table with Aperture in terms of smart database design and leveraging all the metadata, they could bring C1 to a whole new level in a very short time.
All they need to do is look at the documentation and copy+paste the important concepts and basics.0 -

Phase One has a healthy case of NIH syndrome. That's not all bad, but sometimes they seem to overlook prior art that would be applicable. Many would do well emulating Apple UI designs. And so much of Aperture was done so well, that it's a good place to draw inspiration.0 -
Ok, all great ideas and suggestion, but i say, the lens and the camera ARE what we are using to take the picture.
C1 seems to forget it. Also the simple exif data are frequently wrong, i've just found that some old raw files taken with E-510 and a zeiss planar 85/1.4 show "nothing" in the lens model exif field. The same happened some months ago with other lens and the bug was fixed in version 9.
I will submit the request
